Limousin is situated in the South west of France.  Limousin is renowned for its beautiful landscapes and the region is one of the few remaining where it is still possible to find a château for a comparitively modest sum.

The Limousin is just beginning to enjoy tourism popularity. Unspoiled and hidden away from the hustle and bustle of modern life, Limousin has lush countryside which is crossed by numerous rivers and lakes. There is the Vassivière Lake and the valleys of the Dordogne, Vézère and Vienne. Rivers are full of trout and pike and the forests are covered with ceps and other edible fungi making it a region with many local gastronomic delights.

Creuse is located in the Massif Central and with the Creuse River and its tributaries running through. The major tourist attractions are the tapestry museum in Aubusson and the castles of Villemontaix, Boussac, and Banizette.

The river is dammed at several locations both for water and hydroelectricity generation. Creuse has relatively cold winters with some snowl into April but also hot summers although rain does fall throughout the year.
