historical villages. Situated just 90 minutes from the
capital, the region makes a surely ideal place for a country
retreat.
The only place in the world that produces Champagne, the
region boasts scores of wine tours. Just as still wines have
different bodies and flavours so too does Champagne and the
great houses of bubbly are out to prove this with guided tours
and tastings.
It can be easy to be distracted by the likes of Moet and Dom
Perignon, but there is much more to the region. There is the
magnificent gothic Reims and its Notre Dame Cathedral where
all the monarchs were crowned. Further south is Troyes one of
the most magnificent cities in Europe.
Local dishes incorporate their favourite sparkling wine
whenever possible.
