Brittany has long been a popular holiday
destination in France - partly because the magical coast of
Brittany offers a spectacular landscape as well as beautiful
beaches
The dramatic coast lines, with towering
cliffs, rock lined beaches and blue waters are ideal for
sailing, wind surfing and diving.
Brittany lies at the most western tip of
France and its most dominant feature is its rugged coastline.
With over 3500km of coastline a short holiday to Brittany is
surely perfect for water sports and child's play in the sand.
Activities on offer include surfing, windsurfing, canoeing and
kayaking, as you might imagine there are hundreds of beaches
to choose from. Britany is steeped in Celtic history, myths and legends with
prehistoric megaliths that rise mysteriously out of the sea
and the land.
The culture, charm and gentleness of the
people of Brittany, the fine regional cuisine, its cider,
tradional costumes, language and Celtic influence adds to the
uniqueness of the region. The shell fish and other sea food
here is excellent and abundant.
All manner of people are drawn to short breaks in Brittany,
from history buffs who love the World War 2 museums and
monuments to sun worshippers.
As well as its white sandy beaches, cliffs and tiny fishing
villages Brittany is proud of its legendary forests, moors and
castles and the town of Quimper is where Brittany culture is
at its strongest with crepes, cider and traditional Breton
lace to be found.
